Workshops & Lectures
A listing of my current workshops and lectures available for contract at stores and guilds:

Create an embellished seascape garden in this 3-part class! Learn how to create a free-form background for any landscape quilt, adding depth with sheer fabrics and layered stitching.
We will create hand painted fabrics to use as elements in our seascape, learn some basics in fabric painting for shadows and highlights, machine quilting, free motion cut away applique, yarn couching techniques, and hand beading and embellishing.
Students will also enjoy a discussion and demonstration of creative binding techniques with stitching and decorative yarns, along with various materials and methods to incorporate into your art quilts. This is an exciting 3 day class!

Students will discuss fabrics, learn the step-by-step pricess of thread painting, color selection for fabrics and threads, constructions, and ege finishing to create their own Fiber Art Bowl in a flower, shell, or leaf design! *additional $10 pattern fee.
Are you confused by the paper piecing technique? Well, now you don't have to be! Learn the step-by-step process for cutting fabrics, machine settings, piecing in order, working on multiple blocks, joining block sections, and constructing blocks into a quilt. We will start with very simple practice blocks and take baby steps until you are confident, then work our way into expanding upon your newfound paper piecing skills.
Learn the art of thread painting in this class, focusing on using a free motion straight stitch setting. Learn to create smooth curves, garnet stitching, and even lettering as well as color blending, creating cool shadows and warm highlights, making color pop, and using those delectable variegated threads to your advantage.


Come join us and learn the basics of machine needle felting in this super fun class. We will create a beautiful Ocean Sunset on the Beach scene using wool roving plus other unique textiles and fibers. Decorative free motion stitching will add detail and line, and then we will learn some basic embellishing techniques for beads. Several options for edge finishing will be discussed and demonstrated.
There is a $15 Kit Fee, payable to Angela in class. The kit includes: Wool felt base, wool roving fibers, accent fabrics, decorative yarns, Angelina fibers, backing fabric, beads and embellishments.

Are you feeling a little lost and overwhelmed with your Brother Scan-N-Cut machine, and need help getting started? Then our one-of-a-kind Bootcamp is for you! Become empowered by learning the basics of your machine, the materials to use and how to cut them, what mats are used for with different media, and just what do all those buttons mean anyway?! Become familiar with Canvas Workspace, a free program included with your machine that makes creating and editing even easier! We will teach you how to get your machine connected to the internet and registered, how to send and receive files, and explore your new tools. At the end of class, you will have mastered your machine and gained hands-on experience through fun class projects. *Class is limited to Scan-N-Cut 2 and Scan-N-Cut DX machines only.


Students will create their very own Art Book by learning to master fabric collage techniques using acrylic paints, threads, and embellishments. The instructor will discuss different materials for the book spine such as beautiful cork, leather, and vinyl fabrics, and advise on how to use paints to change, add, or enhance colors to better coordinate with fabric collage choices. Students will enjoy learning how to create paper signatures with accent covers that coordinate with their unique collage choices, and how to bind each signature into the cover using a simple technique with colorful string and beads.
Kit Fee.

Discover the magic of Fusible Machine Applique using a satin stitch! Learn the proper fusing methods, how to pivot on curves and points, tapered stitching, color blending, and more. We will explore the appropriate applique threads, bobbin threads, the tools used in machine appliqué, fabric selection and color placement, all while making a simple applique design.
In this class students will learn how to prepare and mark a plain white fabric, and follow that design in free motion quilting. Students will then learn about acrylic textile paints, appropriate brushes, tools, and pens and how to use these to paint, blend, outline and highlight the quilted motif as well as how to paint a background with no paint bleed.
